Threads through Creation
The Chapter House and South Transept in Chester Cathedral

‘Threads through Creation’ is a spectacular sequence of twelve huge textile panels by textile artist Jacqui Parkinson. It’s an exuberant retelling of the creation story in the book of Genesis, a retelling which many visitors find both moving and breath-taking. The artist re-imagines this ancient story in a vibrant combination of layers of silk, hand-dyed materials, metallic leathers and gold leaf, miles of thread and more than eight million stitches!
I have created a dance suite where each dance relates to one of the panels.
I am thrilled to be able to take this suite of dances to Chester Cathedral whilst the exhibition is there.
