Threads through Creation

‘Threads through Creation’ is a spectacular sequence of twelve huge textile panels by textile artist Jacqui Parkinson. It’s an exuberant retelling of the creation story in the book of Genesis, a retelling which many visitors will find both moving and breath-taking. The artist re-imagines this ancient story in a vibrant combination of layers of silk, hand-dyed materials, metallic leathers and gold leaf, miles of thread and more than eight million stitches!
I have created a new dance suite where each dance relates to one of the panels.
We will learn the dances in The Great Hall and on Monday afternoon we will move into the beauty that is Hexham Abbey to dance this suite at The Crossing.
